Industrial Drying

Industrial Drying

Zeochem offers a line of high-performance molecular sieve adsorption products optimized for use in industrial drying applications. These beaded products are ideal desiccants for removal of water from countless industrial systems and chemical processes. From basic humidity control to insulated glass, we have a solution to fit your industrial drying needs.

Applications

Compressed air brake systems are equipped with air-drying cartridges to protect the systems against pollution and damage by moisture and oil residues. Molecular sieves are well-known as adsorption material and desiccant.

Our air brake molecular sieve is developed for optimum performance in the dehydration of air used in mobile compressed air brake systems, such as those installed in trucks, buses and railways.

With excellent physical properties such as high attrition resistance, controlled pore structure and high water adsorption capacity, even in the presence of oils, Zeochem's molecular sieve zeolites are excellent for air brake systems.

Many industrial processes require a dry air stream to operate. Molecular sieve zeolites can be used in air drying equipment to deliver consistently low-moisture air for these processes. We offer our 3A and 4A beaded molecular sieves to suit these applications.

Air compressor units convert electrical and mechanical power into storable energy. This energy stored in compressed air can be used for a wide range of applications, such as pneumatic control systems, controlled filling of cylinders or tanks, and purge systems in industrial processes.

To ensure the expected performance of air compressors and to protect the equipment from the negative impacts of moisture, an air treatment is required.

With its high adsorption capacity, our molecular sieves are developed for optimum performance in the treatment of air used in compressor units.

Refrigeration systems must operate using dry refrigerant. If water is present in refrigerant, it can cause a catastrophic breakdown of the system over time. The presence of moisture can cause oil breakdown and reactions within the system, causing acid formation which can greatly damage compressor hardware. Moisture can also freeze and build up in refrigerant lines, causing expansion and clogging, which leads to failure and refrigerant release.

To mitigate the damaging effects of moisture, molecular sieves can be used to capture the water from the refrigerant stream. Our molecular sieves are used globally in the refrigerant drying industry for this very purpose.

Our molecular sieves are used in both mobile and stationary refrigeration systems with top-end specifications for bead crush strength, adsorption capacity and attrition resistance.

Zeochem's beaded molecular sieve is used in the insulated glass market as a desiccant to fill rigid spacers between window panes. This technology is necessary to prevent condensation buildup on the glass to promote a healthy (mold prevention) and energy-efficient (climate containment) living environment. This technology will also prolong the life of the windows and sealants, keeping them in place as moisture will not build up on the windows or sealants.

In electric power stations, switch gears are installed as fuses or circuit breakers to control, protect and isolate electrical equipment.

Effective switch gears are gas-insulated (GIS), where the conductor chambers are filled with pressurized gas. Our molecular sieves are developed to protect the equipment from moisture and remove products of decomposition.

Zeochem offers a wide range of molecular sieves for industrial drying.

13X

Type 13X offers enhanced adsorption properties and the ability to remove impurities too large to be adsorbed by the type A zeolites.

3A

3A is made by ion-exchanging the sodium in type 4A zeolite with potassium. The 3A molecular sieve will exclude most molecules except water, making it very selective.

5A

5A is the calcium-exchanged form of the type A zeolite molecular sieve and is primarily used for removing carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, alcohols and other oxygenates, hydrogen sulfide, methyl and ethyl mercaptans, and others.
