Zeochem AG has developed and manufactured high silica zeolite products since 1980. Such products are marketed worldwide under the trademark ZEOcat® and ZEOflair®. Primarily the plastics, textile, COC removal and personal care industries are regular customers of these specific high-tech products. A variety of structures provide materials suitable for VOC removal and for many other hydrophobic adsorption applications, as well as for application where a high acid resistance is required. VOC's

Volatile Organic Compounds are airborn polutants which need to be adsorbed from exhaust gases, cleaning agents, furniture polish and fabric softeners. These also include solvents used in coatings, as well as thinners and brush cleaners. In the presence of sunlight, these VOCs can react with nitrogen oxides to create ground level ozone and photochemical smogs.

Major areas of application

• Removal of VOC's from air, using the strongly hydrophibic zeolite powder (i.e. Honey comb wheels) or ZEOcat Z-400 and ZEOcat Z-700 standard beads in regenerative systems
• The plastic industry for the removal of undesired odors and taste. (e.g. ZEOflair powder) enhancing the performance of plastic film for specific applications.
• Personal care applications for the removal of undesirable odors
• Coating and Adhesives markets to reduce the level of VOC's and odors

Types

The ZEOcat® product range includes high silica zeolites, such as various ZSM-5 types, Beta, Mordenite and Zeolite L , many of it manufactured to meet customized specifications, and are available both as powder and in various bead sizes.

ZEOcat® PENTASIL STRUCTURE ZEOLITES

High silica/alumina ratio ZSM-5 zeolites that are used as catalyst supports for many catalytic reactions (e. g. as FCC additive) and can also remove organics (VOC's) from gas and liquid streams even in the presence of water. Structure: Cubic crystal structure with straight 10-membered ring channels of 5.3x5.6 A. The channels are connected by sinusoidal channels of 5.1x5.5 A.

ZEOcat® MORDENITE CRYSTAL STRUCTURE ZEOLITE

A highly acid resistant adsorbent / catalyst which can be used for sour gas dehydration and as an acidic catalyst for production processes where conventional catalysts such as H2SO4 and AlCl3 are still typically used. Structure: Orthorhombic crystal structure with straight 12-membered ring channels of 6.5x7 A and crossed 8 memberer ring channels of 2.6x5.7 A.
